Kejriwal Backs Demand for CEC Gyanesh Kumar’s Resignation

Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has backed the ongoing opposition campaign demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. In a statement, Kejriwal said he supported the movement against what opposition parties describe as “vote theft.”
Kejriwal alleged that genuine votes were being removed and fake votes added through the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. He accused those responsible of undermining democracy and called for Gyanesh Kumar to resign.
The allegations are part of a wider political confrontation between opposition parties and the Election Commission over the revision of voter lists. The Election Commission has rejected allegations of deliberate manipulation and defended the electoral-roll revision process.
Kejriwal’s statement comes as opposition parties continue demonstrations and political campaigns against the Election Commission. His remarks add the Aam Aadmi Party’s voice to demands for accountability from the poll panel and further intensify the debate over electoral-roll revisions.
