Rahul Gandhi Climbs Barricade, Waves Tricolour During Delhi Protest

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi climbed a police barricade and waved the Indian Tricolour during an INDIA bloc protest in New Delhi on October 6. The demonstration was held against the Election Commission over opposition concerns regarding electoral-roll revisions.
Rahul Gandhi, along with other opposition leaders, was marching toward the Election Commission headquarters when police stopped the protesters with barricades. The moment Rahul climbed the barricade and raised the national flag became a prominent scene from the demonstration.
The opposition parties are demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and have raised allegations concerning the revision of electoral rolls. The Election Commission has rejected the allegations and defended the electoral-roll revision process.
Police later detained several opposition leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. After the march was stopped, opposition leaders continued their protest and sit-in near Akashvani Bhawan, keeping their demands before the Election Commission at the centre of the demonstration.
